Coming Attractions and Upcoming Posts

 Here is what we have queued up for the next few days.

1) Why are some women suddenly leaving Key West and Florida? We have a deep background interview with one of the people fleeing our city in light of developments in Tallahassee.

2) What do the anti-transgender and anti-gay legislative initiatives in Tallahassee mean for the “Key West brand” as an island of acceptance? Why should the grandees in the Chamber of Commerce care?

2) Why has the city not required the operators of the Power Boat Races (five months after the fact) to fix the damage to Truman Waterfront Part? We’ve asked the city to respond. We’ll share it with you when we get a response.

3) At large, districts or a mix? We’ll explore how the dynamics of Monroe County and the City of Key West may call for different answers. Or, what about a mixed system of at-large and district representation? Stay tuned.

4) What happens if the entire Wi-Fi and mobile network system goes down (which it has in the past two years}? Should the city have an old fashioned radio transmitter (and a dedicated old school radio channel) to communicate with citizens about what is going on, and how to report emergencies during that particular type of emergency? We’re only one sailboat or one more garbage truck away from a communications disaster.
